"I made my first two angel investments in 1980, both with first-time entrepreneurs known to me. I wanted to help them start and grow their businesses and was intrigued by the possibility of making some money from these startups. I was actively involved with both firms as a mentor/advisor and both companies thrived with nice exits. I continued angel investing rather slowly for 15 years until I became aware of the formation of early angel groups, and I quickly joined the first in my community. I continue as an active angel for several reasons: (1) In the big picture, entrepreneurs create most of the jobs and wealth in our great country. I hope I am doing my share to help. (2) I enjoy helping entrepreneurs blossom and flourish. And (3) I relish sharing my angel investing experiences with entrepreneurs and angels alike."
